What would life be like without dogs?
If you’re anything like us, the very thought of anyone harming these perfect creatures is just too much to bear.
Unfortunately, it happens.
Here’s everything you can do to help dogs in need:
1. Adopt
There are about 6 to 8 million dogs in shelters across the USA.
By the time a year passes, a staggering two million are euthanized.
If you can’t take care of a furry friend for now, pass the word around about adoption days your local shelters might put up.
You can also support their ventures by promoting and attending their charity events.
2. Don’t shop
Hate factory farming?
Puppy mills operate on the same premise; high volume dog breeding where maximum production and profit take precedence over health and welfare.
Although commercial dog breeders are regulated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the minimum required standards of care are insufficient and hard to ensure.
Case in point: cages are only required to be six inches larger than the dog on all sides.
Break the cycle of supply and demand. Don’t buy from a commercial breeder online or in person and encourage your friends and family to follow your lead.
3. Bring awareness to worldwide issues dogs face
Yulin’s dog meat festival has sparked outrage in recent years and with good reason. This 10-day event involves the torture and death of thousands of dogs every year.
Our collective disgust has led to numerous petitions to ban the event to no avail.
Changing legislations in countries where dog eating is a cultural phenomenon takes time.
Your best bet to help dogs in Asia?

They also help dog farmers to transition towards more humane occupations.
