Once upon a time, plant-based eaters had to get creative in the kitchen to enjoy eggnog. But now, vegan eggnog is all over the place!

Whether you want to buy vegan eggnog from a store, whip up a homemade recipe, or incorporate eggnog into a baking creation (vegan eggnog cupcakes, anyone?!), there are tons of  ways to indulge in the festive, creamy flavor — the cruelty-free way.

Here’s our guide to all things vegan eggnog!

5 Vegan eggnog brands we’re loving

1. Califia Farms Holiday Nog

Do you want an eggnog coffee creamer or regular nog? Well, Califia Farms makes both! The smooth and delicious drink is a mixture of almond milk, ginger, and nutmeg. Plus, the cute design on the packaging somehow makes it taste even better. Just us?

2. Trader Joe’s Almond Nog

For the TJ shoppers out there, don’t miss the Almond Nog! It’s just the right of creaminess and smoothness, and it’s on the less pricey end at $2.99.

3. So Delicious Coconut Milk Holiday Nog

More into coconut milk than almond milk? So Delicious has you covered with a holiday nog full of creaminess and just the right amount of spice.

4. Silk Nog

With soy milk base, this Silk nog concoction is rich and smooth — sure to please fans of the more traditional eggnog taste.

5. Almond Breeze Nog

This Almond Breeze Nog seems to just get better year after year. We’re also loving the Horchata — for an extra pack of cinnamon flavor.

Our 3 favorite homemade vegan eggnog recipes

1. Boozy vegan eggnog

Loving It Vegan’s super simple recipe is making all of our cruelty-free eggnog dreams come true.

2. Non-boozy vegan eggnog

Skip the alcohol, but none of the sweetness with this vegan eggnog recipe from the Simple Vegan Blog. A little maple syrup and nutmeg gives it just the right amount of flavor!

3. Date sweetened vegan eggnog

Made with dates, vanilla bean, and cinnamon, this recipe from Elephantastic Vegan is sweet, smooth, and simple.

So, I messed up at least 3 eggnog based recipes this holiday season 👉 my goal was a plant-based eggnog mousse that was light and fluffy, and simple to make. . Turns out there's no such thing! . Just kidding, I just gave up and decided to take a different approach. I'm SO glad I did. . Instead of a mousse, this 7 Ingredient Frozen Eggnog Cheesecake was born. .
