With dairy-free ice cream taking both the vegan community and loyal dairy-fans by storm, it’s no surprise old favorite brands are taking notice. With Ben & Jerry’s, Halo Top, and So Delicious already releasing new vegan-friendly flavors earlier this year, my fellow plant-based friends can rejoice in even more options hitting the market this month from Häagen-Dazs and Baskin Robbins.
Last summer, Häagen-Dazs released their first four vegan flavors (Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge, Coconut Caramel, Chocolate Salted Fudge Truffle, and Mocha Chocolate Cookie) which could only be found in Target. Earlier this year, they’ve expanded and you can find these goodies in supermarkets across the country. Now Häagen-Dazs has even more good news: four more vegan options!
The new pint options are Crunchy Peanut Butter and Coconut Cookies and Crème. And for the first time ever, they’re offering vegan versions of their signature chocolate-covered ice cream bars in Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge and Coconut Caramel Dark Chocolate. The new flavors are part of their Trio Crispy Layers collection, made from coconut cream and crunchy cookie bits.
That leaves the tally at 8 vegan options from Häagen-Dazs! They’ll have to step up their game if they want to rival Ben & Jerry’s 9 or Halo Top’s whooping 14.

Meanwhile, it looks like Baskin Robbins is also jumping on the trend by releasing a new seasonal plant-based frozen dessert, “Horchata Ice,” inspired by the sweet Spanish drink. This sorbet is supposed to taste like cinnamon and coconut and be wayyy creamier than your usual sorbet. Sounds like the perfect treat for summer!
What dairy-free flavor are you hoping to see next?
