There is no denying that celebrities have the power to change the way people think. For example, if Kim Kardashian endorses a particular brand, you are likely going to see millions of super fans following suit. So when a celebrity decides to live a cruelty-free lifestyle, it’s kind of a big deal!

This summer, veganism is heating up as these celebs make plant-based and cruelty-free lifestyles mainstream!

Think twice about eating meat or dairy: this is the message that young singer and songwriter, Billie Eilish, is telling her die-hard music fans. 17-year-old Eilish shared a heartfelt yet powerful post about undercover Fair Oaks Farm footage she saw. She wrote on her Instagram story:

“I understand that meat tastes good and I know you think you’re just one person and it ‘won’t change anything if you stop’ but that’s ignorant and stupid. If you have half a brain, you should know ‘one person’ adds up. Be smarter.”

Will.i.am

It may come as no surprise that Will.i.am is vegan. I mean, he has an entire song with the Black Eyed Peas dedicated to asking all of his listeners, where is the love? Literally, he says it over and over again.

Well, this love has slowly but surely branched into his everyday routine, and Will.i.am has been vegan since 2017 and hasn’t looked back. He recently put this lifestyle back into the limelight after he sadly got tinnitus in January, but he stated that his plant-based diet continues to keep him in optimal health regardless.

Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell, famously known for being the harshest of judges on all of the television shows he’s on, has taken on a meat-free lifestyle. After turning 60 in 2019, this celeb decided it was time to make a change. While he hasn’t gone completely vegan (not yet, anyway), his goal is to cut out fish entirely in the very near future.

In addition to this lifestyle change, he also donated money to the Human Society International to help shut down a dog meat farm in South Korea: over $32.6K to be exact. While he may be the meanest judge of them all, he lives one of the kindest lifestyles, and we love him for it!

Russell Brand

Comedian Russell Brand recently switched from being vegetarian back to being vegan for spiritual reasons. His first attempt was back in 2011. He said in his podcast, ‘Under the Skin:’

“If you do those things, everything else will take care. You know like when people are awakened, they don’t want to have the blood of animals and other people on their hands anymore.”

We hope that Bieber continues on this cruelty-free path and inspires his fans to follow suit.

I Love You.

You might’ve seen singer and actor Jaden Smith all over your newsfeed these past few weeks, and he certainly deserved to be there! This summer, the 21-year-old son of Will and Jada Smith, launched a vegan food truck called I Love You Restaurant. Not only is it vegan – he’s using it to feed the homeless. He opened it on Los Angeles’ Skid Row and hinted that he’ll be doing another pop up in the very near future!

Lady Gaga

When I was young, I never felt beautiful. And as I struggled to find a sense of both inner and outer beauty, I discovered the power of makeup. I remember watching my mother put her makeup on every morning, basking in the glow of her power to put on her bravest face as the hard working woman she was. I then began to experiment with makeup as a way to make my dreams of being as strong as my mother become true. It was then that I invented Lady Gaga. I found the superhero within me by looking in the mirror and seeing who I wanted to be. Sometimes beauty doesn't come naturally from within. But I'm so grateful that makeup inspired a bravery in me I didn't know I had. I've come to accept that I discovered my beauty by having the ability to invent myself and transform. They said I was just weird, but really, I was just Born This Way. Love, Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga slays at just about everything, and creating makeup is no exception. Not only does this singer, songwriter, and actress have an extremely powerful message behind her new makeup brand, but all the products are vegan-friendly, as well. Lady Gaga writes on Instagram:

“Sometimes beauty doesn’t come naturally from within. But I’m so grateful that makeup inspired a bravery in me I didn’t know I had.”

Her vegan makeup brand, Haus Laboratories, features bright lip liners, gloss, and shimmer powders.

Mayim Bialik

Now that “The Big Bang Theory” has concluded, former show start and longtime vegan, Mayim Bialik, has time to pursue other career paths. She’s now co-owner of Los Angeles based vegan restaurant, Bodhi Bowl. The restaurant’s concept is “fast-casual” with healthy plant-based fare served custom to order – similar to Subway.

Beyoncé

Queen Bey just shared an amazing video chronicling the 44 days she spent on a vegan diet ahead of her 2018 Coachella performance. If helped her lose the weight she gained carrying her twins, but she says she also noticed health benefits like better skin, improved sleep, and higher energy levels.
