Let’s be real – the most notable commercials ever always premiere during the Super Bowl. Everyone remembers the Bud-Weis-Er frogs and the time Betty White got tackled during a Snickers commercial. Since companies pay top dollar for Super Bowl advertising, the bar is set high and this year didn’t disappoint.
One of the highlights of the 2018 Super Bowl commercials was for the new Doritos Blaze which features Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage and Morgan Freeman in a lip sync battle that Chrissy Teigen would applaud. If you haven’t seen it, you can watch HERE.
Peter Dinklage is a well-known vegan, so obviously he wouldn’t be promoting just ANY Doritos (looking at you Cool Ranch and Nacho Cheese). Blaze is described by Frito-Lay as a “bold new flavor that brings the heat”. The new flavor of Doritos now provides vegans with 3 Doritos options: Blaze, Sweet Chili, and Toasted Corn.
While Game of Thrones fans still have to wait another year for the REAL fire and ice battle, this was a creative way to introduce this new pairing from two of PepsiCo’s most iconic brands.
