4 inspiring animal rescues you have to know about
“It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”
These words from Mother Teresa are a beautiful reminder to be selfless every day, and they especially resonate today because it is The International Day of Charity.
September 5th is dedicated to not only remembering the beloved humanitarian Mother Teresa on the anniversary of her death, but also honoring her extraordinarily generous life. And what better way to do that than by celebrating the amazing animal rescues and environmental organizations we’re so proud to stand behind.
As of April of 202o, we’ve donated more than $71,000 to animals in need and we wouldn’t have been able to do that without the support of incredible humans like you (insert: big hug from our screen to yours!).
4 animal rescues we’re incredibly proud to support
1. Sale Ranch Sanctuary
Sale Ranch Sanctuary in Temecula, CA rescues all kinds of farm animals like sheep, pigs, donkeys, and horses. The owners are husband-wife duo Jen and Dave, who have dedicated their time to rehabilitating animals and promoting a cruelty-free lifestyle in the name of compassion towards all beings. Meaning, they’re impossible not to love!
2. Rancho Relaxo
This nonprofit in New Jersey, founded by Caitlin Cimini, rescues hundreds of unwanted, slaughter-bound, and orphaned animals. Their mantra: “Our sole mission is to help every animal we possibly can.” So much yes to that.
3. Woodstock Sanctuary
Chickens, cows, rabbits, pigs, goats, and more, have all found a home at Woodstock Sanctuary in High Falls, New York. Woodstock rescues farm animals, gives them care, and then connects them with humans to advocate for animal rights and promote veganism.
4. The Riley Farm Rescue
In 2017, Marla Riley founded The Riley Farm Rescue after parenting some pet-chickens. Since then, she has embarked on an inspiring journey going from animal lover to animal saver. She’s rescued more than a hundred animals including chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, guinea pigs, peacocks, rabbits, pigeons, and a mini horse.
