I hope you have some tissues handy, because this one looks like it might be a tear-jerker.

From the co-director of What the Health and Cowspiracy, a new vegan documentary is coming out later this year. Unlike the previous two titles, however, Running For Good is centered on one person’s inspiring story: Fiona Oakes.

Fiona Oakes is the fastest woman in the world to run a marathon on all seven continents and the north pole. She’s competed in more than 50 marathons, set 5 marathon course records around the globe, and in 2015 she ran 6 marathons in 6 days on 6 continents. As if that weren’t already impressive enough – she doesn’t have a right kneecap.

At the age of 14 she was told she would never walk properly, let alone run, and after undergoing more than 17 knee surgeries, her kneecap ultimately got removed.

Despite this seemingly insurmountable adversity, Fiona has achieved countless incredible feats, all while raising awareness for the plight of animals around the world.

She operates, almost single handedly, an animal sanctuary where she cares for nearly 400 formerly abused and neglected animals, while also training more than 100 miles a week.

As you may have guessed, she’s also Vegan, 40+ years running (pun fully intended).

Running For Good is a feature length sports documentary following this incredible woman’s achievements, all in the name of saving our four-legged friends.

You can see the short trailer for the film here, and to learn more you can visit the film’s website here.

There is no release date yet, but Oakes revealed in a Facebook comment that the film will be available in the next few months!
