At home

Turn off the tap to save water

  1. Turn off electricity whenever you leave your house (or any room, for that matter) this includes any electronics that are plugged in but don’t need to be.
  2. You can also turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth and soaping, take shorter showers, or shower less (within reason, of course).

At work

  1. Encourage your co-workers to use environmentally friendly office products, including recycled paper towels and tissues.
  2. Also, be sure to recycle and dispose of your trash correctly throughout the workweek.

Small changes like these can go a long way!

On-the-go

Cycling is good for the environment

 

  1. Take care of the environment (and your health!) by cycling or walking whenever you can. If driving is unavoidable, consider carpooling or taking public transportation.

 

  1. For longer distance trips, trains and buses are better for the environment than flying!

  3. It is also helpful to bring a takeaway container with you whenever eating out portion sizes have increased by 138% since 1970, which has resulted in more food waste.
