Every delicious (dairy-free) recipe you need in your life for World Nutella Day
Something about the combination of chocolate-hazelnut seriously challenges our self control. It’s sweet, but not too sweet… in the kind of way that makes us crave it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert (and everything in between).
If you love the sweet treat as much as we do, we have good news for you because February 5th is World Nutella Day. (Not that you need an excuse to indulge — hazelnuts are full of fiber, good fats, and vitamins! And studies show chocolate also has a bunch of health benefits of its own.)
Even though Nutella isn’t vegan (it has whey and skim milk!) — we’re still celebrating with dairy-free, plant-based, chocolate-hazelnut creations. And luckily, making vegan versions of Nutella is super easy.
Homemade plant-based Nutella recipe
This homemade vegan “nutella” recipe from Minimalist Baker requires just FOUR ingredients: hazelnuts, vanilla extract, sea salt, and dairy-free dark chocolate. And unlike DIY almond butter (which we love but can sometimes take foreverrrrr), this recipe takes less than 30 minutes.
If that’s too much — go for the store-bought spreads like Justin’s Chocolate Hazelnut Butter Blend.
We love our chocolatey spread straight up on a spoon or slathered on a banana, but if you’re feeling fancy check out these 11 dairy-free, plant-based recipes with “nutella”!
