The best Valentine’s Day gifts that give back

Valentine’s Day gives us all the feels — we’ll admit it.  It’s not so much the consumerism aspect that gets us counting down to February 14 or even the excuse to eat chocolate for breakfast. We love Valentine’s Day because it’s a reminder to celebrate all the different kinds of love in each of our lives.

From the connections between a group of best friends, a mother and daughter, romantic partners, a pet parent and pup (or cat!), and of course, the beauty of self-love… there is so much love in this world deserving of recognition.

Whether your valentine is your work wife, significant other, or YOU, we hope these earth-friendly Valentine’s Day gift ideas get you in the loving spirit.

Valentine’s Day Eco-Friendly Gift Guide: For All the Loved Ones In Your Life (including you!)

1. Chocolate that gives back to animals

To say we’re obsessed with Endangered Species Chocolate just doesn’t do these sweet treats justice. The packaging is adorable, the taste is high-quality good, and they don’t use palm oil.

Most of the products are also vegan, like the Oat Milk Chocolate Bars, and they donate a portion of profits to conservation groups supporting wildlife and habitats in need. Need we say more?

2. Eco-friendly lip balm

Pucker up — or  not! Treat your lips to a yummy lip balm like this one from Elate, which is vegan and stored in a glass jar with a bamboo lid.

3. Indoor Plants

Skip the cut flowers! Plants last so much longer and do so many amazing things for us like purify air, boost moods, and reduce stress.

Check out these 8 more reasons to love indoor plants.

4. Vegan leather journal

Give the gift of gratitude with a vegan leather journal — like this gorgeous one from Pigsey Art— which would be the perfect gratitude notebook.

5. Bee Grateful organic cotton crewneck

Bee Grateful organic cotton crewneck from Wholesome Culture

Spread the love with a cozy crew! We’re partial to our Bee Grateful organic crewneck, which is made with 100% organic cotton and printed with eco-friendly water-based ink. Plus, 10% of the profits goes to animal and environmental nonprofits. So grab one for you and your Valentine — and spread the love and gratitude wherever you go!

6. Bath or shower bombs

A Lush Bath bomb is essentially giving the gift of an at-home spa day. Our favorite is Intergalactic — it’s made with vegan ingredients and it’ll make you feel like you’re floating inside a rainbow.

No bath? No problem. Check out the shower bombs instead.

7. Loose leaf tea

For the tea-lover in your life, loose leaf tea is the way to go. By skipping the packaged tea, you’ll save waste from all those little tea bags and individual packaging, plus the flavor is typically a lot fuller in loose leaf tea.

We’re partial to Arbor Teas, which offers loose leaf teas (all organic) in compostable packaging.

8. Jewelry that gives back

We’re suckers for a pretty piece of jewelry, especially when a portion of the profit goes to a good cause. That’s why we love Charmed by a Cause. They donate 20% of the purchase price either to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Covenant House, or Woodstock Farm Sanctuary (you get to choose the cause you want to support!).

9. Eco-friendly bras, undies, loungewear

Want to treat yourself to an eco-friendly and dreamy robe or bra and undies set? You may find it’s harder than you think!

Luckily, Azura Bay has curated a gorgeous collection of not only bras, undies and lingerie, but also loungewear and swimwear made with eco-conscious fabrics and production processes.
